Microchanneling Treatment Pre & Post Care Instructions
For best results, please follow these instructions.
PRE-TREATMENT GUIDELINES:
- Avoid topical agents that may increase your skin’s sensitivity, such as retinoids, topical antibiotics, or acids for 3-5 days prior to your treatment.
- Avoid unprotected sun exposure or sunburn for at least 24 hours prior to your treatment.
- Discontinue using any waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis in the area for 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
POST-TREATMENT GUIDELINES:
- After the treatment, your skin may feel warm and tight, like a mild sunburn for 4-24 hours.
- Refrain from touching the treated area for 90 minutes after the treatment.
- Continue applying the serum provided until gone; frequent application is recommended due to loss of water through the skin after the treatment.
- Avoid washing your face for the first 6-8 hours. After that, you may wash the treated area with a gentle cleanser and apply a mild moisturizer. Avoid anything that may dry out the skin.
- Do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula), or anything perceived as “active” skincare for 3-5 days.
- Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours after the procedure. Be sure all makeup brushes have been cleaned before using them.
- Do not exfoliate or do IPL, laser, hydrafacial, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid direct sunlight for at least 48 hours, wearing appropriate sunscreen after that.
- Avoid swimming, sauna, or vigorous exercise for at least 72 hours.
- If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and on the day of the treatment.
- Mild acne and milia can occur in rare cases. Avoid picking as they will go away in a few days.
- Mild skin sloughing may occur for a few days after treatment.
- Drink plenty of water and remain hydrated.
- After 24-48 hours post-procedure: apply the Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator to maximize your results. Cleanse first and then apply 1-3 pumps each, morning and night.
- Return for a follow-up treatment in about a month or as recommended.
